The boss of Fiat Chrysler Sergio Marchionne has been replaced with immediate effect, the head of the company, USA Michael Manley.
Company executives held an emergency meeting Saturday to appoint a successor, Mr. Marchionne after he suffered complications from the surgery.
Mr. Marchionne, who is credited with saving the company from bankruptcy, has been recuperating after shoulder surgery three weeks ago.
In a statement on Saturday evening, ARC expressed “deep regret” that “unexpected complications and significantly worsened in the last hours. As a result, Mr. Marchionne will be able to get back to work”.
