Board Stobart showed further signs of fracturing ahead of a crunch vote this Friday, as non-Executive Director John Garbutt threw his support behind the former chief Andrew Tinkler and his plans to oust the company’s Chairman.
Speaking to the newspaper “daily Telegraph”, Mr canning said Mr Tinkler was “necessary for further progression of Stobart as he was, because he actually founded the company.”
“He’s a very talented businessman and a valuable asset that I hold in the highest regard”.
His comments follow an article in “the Sunday times” this weekend, which suggested to Mr. Garbutt resigned in February because he did not agree with Mr Tinkler.
