Paid Sainsbury’s boss Mike coupe soared as he put in his pocket $ 427,000 bonus ahead of the proposed mega merger of supermarket Asda.
Salary of the General Director jumped by 46pc to £3.4 million in the past financial year increased by £1 million long-term share awards and a hefty bonus for hitting financial goals.
Mr coupe also provided a 2pc increase in wages for next year in line with other employees of the head office, increasing his salary to £962,297.
